After many years; but the game NFS Shift looks quite interesting, and especially during the gameplay. Playing on the G27 Logitech steering wheel after Need for Speed 2015... What is actually called "Getting rid of the game".
Once upon a time I tried to play on the steering wheel in Need for Speed Shift, but I could not really understand the settings. Nothing worked, and it seemed that it was generally undesirable and impossible to control. Until now!
It is important to note that as it turned out, not all the settings in the game were saved. As it should be in the usual way. I accidentally noticed this, and solved the problem by adding the file "dimap.dll" to the root folder of the game. (can be downloaded!)
Initially, I chose the BMW 135i Coupe, the first level from the Need for Speed Shift car park. And before that, I defined all the settings in the "Logitech Profiler", then launched the game and adjusted everything as shown in the screenshot. First, I chose "Controls" and the "Logitech G27 (separate pedals)" scheme, then "Control Settings", and lastly "Aerobatics". As a result, I got the best settings for the G27 (G25) steering wheel for NFS Shift.
In addition to all this, you can also pump up any car with parts, they will allow you to further customize the handling in tuning. This very noticeably affects the steering wheel control in Need for Speed Shift.
It is important to know that there are cars with poor handling, there were worse ones. I did not test them all, but in extreme cases, adjust the "Tuning" in the improvement garage.
"Global Device Settings" settings shown in the screenshot:
- "Overall Effects Strength" at 9 percent;
- "Spring Effect Strength" up to 83 percent;
- "Damper Effect Strength" at 35 percent;
- "Centering Spring Strength" at 11 percent;
- "Degrees Of Rotation" at full 900 degrees of rotation;
- Pay attention to the checked boxes.
Remember that the cockpit is an important part of the convenience of control in racing games!
